Vans was started in 1966 in Southern California by Paul Van Doren with the opening of the first store. The Van Doren Rubber Company had its unique selling point by manufacturing shoes and selling them straight to the public. Starting with only a single pair of shoes known to us as the ‘Authentic’ Vans has gone on to become one of the biggest names in skate.
